Some Exciting News this June!

12 days ... Today marks 12 days before our wedding day!

How the HECK did that happen? Time sure flies!!! It seems like it was just yesterday that Chris asked me if we could go on a walk after I got home from cleaning at 307 Meat Company.

I was so tired, but I had denied his request for about a week at that point... So, I mixed up some home-made margaritas and we climbed up the rocky hill behind the house to watch the pink sun set through the smoke of the Mullen Fire. It sure didn't cross my mind that he had a ring in his pocket!!!

So here we are, 12 days out from our wedding and what will hopefully be a fun get together with friends and family. We will be roasting one of our very own pigs, that was born here almost exactly a year ago. A friend of mine (Alexis, with Red House on the Prairie) is making the BBQ sauces to accent the pork, and we are going to have some friends play music so we can dance and enjoy each other's company.

I'm simultaneously looking forward to it and looking forward to it being over... HAH! I'm no event planner, but it should be fun. At least I know the food will be good! In honor of the upcoming celebration I wanted to share with you Chris's Biscuits and Gravy Recipe. I call them his 'Marry-Me Biscuits.' I named them this before he popped the question...

Chris has always been an awesome bread baker. He turns our fresh sheep milk and breakfast sausage (made with our pork) into creamy, rich, gravy- atop a flaky, velvety, biscuit that puts the Pillsbury-Dough-Boy to shame... He grudgingly agreed to let me share the recipe with you. Here it is: https://mcusercontent.com/b0dd7375f2d690c019dbca4c2/files/cc6c0803-a070-9600-3b0d-2c0c8469aeaf/Chris_s_Marry_Me_Biscuits_and_Gravy.pdf Let me know what you think! I'll be sure to pass the word along to Chris, but keep in mind... he's already taken ;) Happy June My friends! -BJ, Chris, and the Taste of the Wind Crew

Often-times people don't want to think about the last day their food lived. I get it. It's heavy and it can leave us feeling guilty for sustaining ourselves as meat-eaters. AND it often-times leaves p
